From the beginning of the 21st century, the world is encountering profound changes unseen in a century. The industrial revolution in science and technology, interacting with the process of globalization, develops rapidly and continues to deepen. Significant changes are taking place in political, economic, culture and social ecology within countries and international society.
In the spring of 2020, a sudden new coronavirus pandemic hits the world. As of early November, 180 of the 193 UN member states have been affected by the pandemic, and the COVID-19 has also become the first truly global pandemic in human history.
COVID-19 is not only a global pandemic and public health crisis, it has also severely affected the global economy and financial markets, damaged global supply chains, industrial chains, as well as value chains and disrupted international trade activities. Under this “profound changes unseen in a century” and global pandemic, the National Academy of Engineering and Sciences (NAES), which is dedicated to strengthening international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, and jointly help fight the global economic recession, is founded.
The National Academy of Engineering and Sciences (NAES) is a non-governmental association committed to promoting scientific and societal progress. The mission of NAES is to explore ways and methods to transform science and technology into productive forces, promote the integration of technology and economy, study the optimal allocation of resources, and promote the construction of an innovative country and high-quality development.
The major object of NAES is to explore ways and methods to transform sciences and technology into productive forces, promote the integration of technology and economy, study the optimal allocation of resources, and promote the construction of an innovative country and high-quality development. To further its purpose, the NAES may undertake any tasks it deems suitable, including but not limited to, the following:
Carry out academic exchanges, activate academic thinking, promote the development of all scientific disciplines, and stimulate independent innovation.
Create an atmosphere in which various segments of the science community freely exchange knowledge and expertise for the betterment of the community.
Provide encouragement and support to the younger generation in particular students through a variety of activities that are able to develop and help creativity, invention and innovative results in science, technology and innovation.
Recognize outstanding personal achievement in science, technology and innovation within the community.
Undertake projects that contribute towards the development of science, technology and innovation.
Provide training and solutions to organizations and institutions in the area of science, technology and innovation.
There are four parts of the governance: board of directors, executive committee, finance committee and elections committee.
The NAES Board of Directors is comprised of leading minds in both the academic and industry sectors of science and technology. Directors are to be elected by the Members of the NAES according to procedures developed and approved by the NAES Election Committee.
The Executive Committee develops organizational strategies and initiatives as directed by NAES’s governing board. The committee may develop recommendations for board discussion.
The Finance Committee shall review and make recommendations on all new business and any old business coming before council having financial implications that have not already been provided for in the budget.
The Election Committee shall: be responsible for the conduct of elections by voting Members of the Association, determine the results of all such elections, investigate complaints about NAES elections and certify the outcome of the elections to the Board of Directors.
At NAES, we believe in the power of collaboration and the limitless potential that emerges when minds from diverse backgrounds and disciplines unite. Our commitment to fostering scientific cooperation is rooted in the understanding that breakthroughs and innovation thrive in an environment of shared knowledge, expertise, and resources. We have built a vibrant community of scientists, researchers, and experts who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of human understanding. Through NAES, we aim to inspire, facilitate, and support collaborations that transcend borders, promote the exchange of ideas, and ultimately drive progress in science and technology. Join us on this incredible journey of discovery, where together, we can shape a brighter future for all.
We will continue to present more information about cooperation between us and other organizations.
