About NAES-YSN

The National Academy of Engineering and Sciences (NAES) offers opportunities and networks for early-career scholars:The National Academy of Engineering and Sciences for Young Scientist Network (NAES-YSN) invites young fellows (researchers, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty) all over the world to join us.

The NAES-YSN is a non-governmental association committed to promoting scientific and societal progress. The mission of NAES-YSN is to explore ways and methods to transform science and technology into productive forces, promote the integration of technology and economy, study the optimal allocation of resources, and promote the construction of an innovative country and high-quality development.

Object and Vision
The major object of NAES-YSN is to explore ways and methods to transform sciences and technology into productive forces, promote the integration of technology and economy, study the optimal allocation of resources, and promote the construction of an innovative country and high-quality development. To further its purpose, the NAES-YSN may undertake any tasks it deems suitable, including but not limited to the following:
  • 1. Carry out academic exchanges, activate academic thinking, promote the development of all scientific disciplines, and stimulate independent innovation.
  • 2. Create an atmosphere in which various segments of the science community freely exchange knowledge and expertise for the betterment of the community.
  • 3. Provide encouragement and support to the younger generation in particular students through a variety of activities that are able to develop and help creativity, invention and innovative results in science, technology and innovation.
  • 4. Recognize outstanding personal achievement in science, technology and innovation within the community.
  • 5. Undertake projects that contribute towards the development of science, technology and innovation.
  • 6. Provide training and solutions to organizations and institutions in the area of science, technology and innovation.
Join us and Nomination

To be eligible for selection, researchers are expected to:
• Be 45 or less on January 1 of the year in which they are selected.
• Have an excellent track record of at least five international publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Members of NAES-YSN will be actively involved in promoting NAES-YSN. They attend a members’ meeting at least once each year and take an active part in at least one theme or committee.
• Members who are unable to be active within NAES-YSN for a lengthy period due to particular circumstances or who can only be less active must inform the Board of NAES-YSN in good time.
• If a member is inactive for a lengthy period, the Board of NAES-YSN will try to encourage this member to become more active within NAES-YSN.
