Prof. Seco’s academic career started at Princeton University in 1985, and landed at the University of Toronto in 1992 after a short but delightful stay at the California Institute of Technology. Through the creation of Sigma Analysis & Management in 1999, the GGSJ Centre of Digital Management and Technology Innovation and Angelstar GmbH in 2018, Prof. Luis always attempted to leave an application footprint of my academic activities, to assist companies and individuals address challenges and achieve their objectives. Since the work of Nobel Laureates Markowitz, Sharpe, Merton, Scholes and others, quantitative analysis has become an increasing actor in the world of finance. With the latest developments in data science and machine learning, mathematics has moved to the forefront of much of contemporary investing. Through the Master’s in Mathematical Finance at the University of Toronto which Prof. Seco direct, and the companies he manage Sigma Analysis & Management and the GGSJ Centre of Digital Management and Technology Innovation, He aims to involve himself in a 360 degree sweep into the world of FinTech, covering the areas of education, professional training, investing and institutional asset management.
